Abstract
We have observed that nonderivatized C-60 (buckminsterfullerene) could inhibit the replication of simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) in vit ro and the activity of Moloney murine leukemia virus (M-MuLV) reverse transcriptase (RT) (IC50 approximate to 3 mu M). This means that biolo gical effects are exerted via a direct and active interaction of the C -60 Skeleton with other macromolecules.
