Abstract
Pulse technique was proposed in this paper to study the characteristics of three kinds coal-char combustion with high partial pressure of oxygen under the temperature of 1273-1573 K to simulate the process of coal combustion with pure oxygen. Oxygen or the mixture of nitrogen and oxygen was taken as the pulse gas. An on-line gas chromatography with TCD was employed to dete ct the concentration of CO and CO, in the reacted pulse gas. Helium was use d as both the carrier gas and reference gas in TCD. The results showed that the apparent reaction rate increased strongly as a function of oxygen conc entration up to 100% under the operation pressure 0.18 MPa. The reaction or ders for the three chars were all close to unity. The activation energies w ere about 20 kcal/mol in the temperature range of 1273-1573 K. (C) 2001 Els evier Science Ltd.
