An amplitude analysis of the D+, D-s(+) --> pi(-)pi(+)pi(+) Dalitz plo
ts is presented using data collected by the Fermilab high-energy photo
production experiment E687. The data are fitted to a model consisting
of a sum of relativistic Breit-Wigner amplitudes for the intermediate
two-body resonant decay modes plus a flat non-resonant contribution. F
rom the fit we derive decay fractions and relative phases. We also pre
sent measurements of a(D+-->pi(-)pi(+)pi(+))/Gamma(D+-->K(-)pi(+)pi(+)
) and -->pi(-)pi(+)pi(+))/Gamma(D-s(+)-->K(-)K(+)pi(+)). (C) 1997 Publ
