The authors present a detailed derivation of the power spectral density of
the DH-PIM scheme. It is shown that the spectral profile resembles a genera
l sine envelope shape, which contains DC and potential distinct slot compon
ents. The amplitude of both components and the location of the slot compone
nt largely depend on the bit resolution and the pulse duty cycle. To confir
m the validity of the mathematical model, a computer simulation model is al
so developed and the results presented are in close agreement with the pred
icted results.
