Abstract
A numerical scheme based on the method of numerical integration along bicha racteristics is developed for the numerical analysis of torsional wave prop agation in layered orthotropic media. The dynamic behavior of a layered ort hotropic bar of rectangular cross-section due to impact torque is studied. Moreover, the stability of the present method is investigated.
