Simple formulas for calculating wave propagation and splitting in anisotropic media

A general method for dealing with the propagation of waves in homogeneous a nisotropic media is presented. The formulas were derived and applied to det ermine the reflected and transmitted waves resulting from a plane wave obli quely incident at an interface between two anisotroptic media with arbitrar ily oriented principal axes. The validity of the formulas was also demonstr ated by calculating the reflection and refraction at a biaxial-biaxial inte rface.
