Abstract
We prove an effective version of Nori's connectivity theorem using Koszul c ohomology computations. We apply this result to study the cycle class, Abel -Jacobi and regulator traps and the nonvanishing of certain Griffiths group s for complete intersections in projective spaces, abelian varieties and qu adrics.
