A case of lower extremity compartment syndrome following plantaris tendon h
arvest for use as an upper extremity tendon graft is described. Compartment
syndrome seems to be a rare complication after plantaris harvest, but expe
dient management is required to avert adverse sequelae. Exploration of the
course of the plantaris tendon may be a viable alternative to the tradition
al lateral approach in Copyright (C) 2001 by the American Society for Surge
