Abstract
Black sands originating from north, west and south seaside strips of t he Bay of Burgas, Black Sea, were investigated. It was found that thes e sands are martitized magnetites. Their composition involves mixtures of nonstoichiometric magnetite and maghemite or stoichiometric magnet ite and hematite.
