Abstract
The tweezer-type receptors 3, 8. and 11 are synthesized and are used for th e binding of nitrate anions. Hereby, an additive effect of the hydrogen bon ds on the free enthalpy of complexation is observed. Every additional hydro gen bond increases DeltaG(HG), for the binding of nitrate in D-chloroform. by approximately 2-3 kJ (.) mol(-1). (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rig hts reserved.
