Abstract
The reaction layer thickness at the Al2O3/AgCuTi interface has been measure d with different bonding times at a fixed bonding temperature. The effect t hat the change in reaction layer thickness had on the shear strength of a A l2O3/AgCuTi/Ti-6Al-4V brazed joint was analysed using SEM. The relationship between reaction layer thickness and joint strength has been discussed wit h the aim of providing a theory for guiding industrial manufacture and incr easing the joint strength.
