Abstract
The emission spectrum of CaS from a King-type furnace has been recorded in the region 13,150-16,150 cm(-1) by a Fourier Transform spectrophotometer (F TS). The CaS B(1)Sigma (+)-X(1)Sigma (+) transition has been rotationally a nalysed. Molecular constants have been calculated for both states. The prin cipal molecular constants for the B(1)Sigma (+) state are T-c = 15,220.775( 3), omega (e) = 409.064(2), omega (c)chi (c) = 0.8200(3) and B-e = 0.166676 9(7) cm(-1).
