M. Braun et al., Thermoanalytic and spectroscopic investigations of hydride structures on the surface of amorphous silicon dioxide, PHYS CHEM P, 3(23), 2001, pp. 5145-5149
The surface of amorphous silicon dioxide is hydrogenated and the hydride st
ructures obtained are investigated by means of thermoanalytic and infrared
spectroscopic measurements. Different hydride groups are found by IR spectr
oscopy. The results are confirmed by thermal measurements. The experimental
ly determined bond parameters of the surface silane centers document the di
fferences in comparison with the Si-H bonds of other silanes. Model structu
res with comparable characteristics of the silicon-hydrogen bond lead to co
nclusions concerning the surface texture of the adsorbent.
