Abstract
A simplified mass ablation and relocation treatment of high-field-side/low- field-side pellet injection is proposed. It includes a model of pellet abla tion, parallel flow model for the attached ablation channel and a simplifie d magnetohydrodynamic pellet displacement model. This treatment reveals sat isfactory agreement with the present-day experiments on ASDEX-U and DIII-D tokamaks. The model provides the optimization directions for deep plasma fu elling in experiments.
