Abstract
This article presents a brief history of the use of biological agents in wa rfare and bioterrorism. Bacillus anthracis, smallpox virus, and Yersinia pe stis, historically have been and currently are considered the most likely c andidates for potential use under these circumstances. This article discuss es the clinical syndromes these agents cause and the role of vaccines in pr otection against them.
