Abstract
This paper describes a one-dimensional model that predicts the minimum stat ic pressure in a rotating transfer passage taking into account both the cen trifugal and the viscous forces, the latter having been neglected in previo us studies. The minimum pressure is important as it determines the engine l ubricating capacity and whether aero-cavitation may occur in the passage. T he flow is considered laminar and the fluid is incompressible and Newtonian with constant viscosity. The current model predicts a lower minimum pressu re within the transfer passage due to the inclusion of the viscous forces i n the model.
