The low frequency mechanical properties were investigated by measurement of
internal friction (IF) in Cu-Al-Be alloy. The IF and its dependence of the
measuring frequency and amplitude during temperature variation and under i
sothermal condition were investigated by an inverted torsion pendulum. The
IF peak associated with the martensitic transformation and the change of th
e sub-structure in low temperature phase were obtained in Cu-Al-Be alloy. B
ased on the dependence of measuring frequency and temperature rate, the mec
hanism of IF peaks are discussed.
