Abstract
Based on the superposition of partial waves which are consist of one quasi- longitudinal and two quasi- shear waves in an orthorhombic symmetry solid l ayer and a compressional wave in each side of the loaded-fluid, the dispers ion equation of generalized leaky Lamb modes was derived. The complex wave number of the generalized leaky Lamb a modes was calculated to obtain the d ispersion characteristics of both the phase velocity and the sound attenuat ion. Numerical results demonstrate that the dispersion behavior for unloade d and fluid-loaded is quite different. The leaky effect of the loaded fluid not only causes the significant sound attenuation but also leads to the in teraction between these leaky Lamb modes and strongly affects the shape of dispersion curves.
