Abstract
Acoustic nonlinear parameter BIA describes the nonlinear features of the fi nite amplitude sound wave propagation in a medium Compared with the lines p arameters (such as sound velocity, attenuation coefficient etc.), this para meter provides more information about the structure of the tissues. Therefo re, the acoustic nonlinear parameter BIA may be a novel parameter for the u ltrasound tissue characterization. In this paper, the nonlinear parameter B IA computed tomography in reflection mode is proposed by using a compound t ransducer. Theoretical analysis and experimental image of biological tissue s, including porcine liver and hepatocirrhosis tissues are presented.
