Abstract
Two kinds of approaches have been used in literature to discuss the wave pr opagation in a liquid-bubble mixture: The effective equation approach for e quivalent medium and the multiple scattering approach. Theoretical and nume rical comparisons of them are given in this paper and show their identity i n dealing with the propagation of linear pressure waves in bubbly liquids. Possible applications of these two methods are also discussed.
