From a highly personal perspective, Horst-Eberhard Richter attempts to show
that the application of psychoanalytic theory to fan-lily and group proces
ses in general is anything but a random, or indeed questionable, extension
of the scope of psychoanalysis. He contends that this extension is imperati
ve if psychoanalysis is not to rigidify - or rather, if it is not to become
even more rigid than it has already.
