The author presents the concept of relational analysis as an elaboration of
object relations theory in the multi-personal context of family relations,
proceeding from there to indicate parallels and differences between relati
onal analysis and interpersonal psychoanalysis. Subsequently Bauriedl expla
ins some of the principles underlying her therapeutic technique and describ
es change processes achievable in this psychoanalytic setting. A central to
pic in her approach is the importance of psychoanalytic attitude - the inne
r attitude of the therapist - as a major factor in the therapeutic process
and its efficacy in couple and family therapy.
