Radiation-induced changes in the superconducting transition temperatur
e T(c) and the zero-field critical current density at 4.2 K are report
ed for Ba0.6K0.4BiO3 (BKBO) thin films irradiated with 1, 2, and 3 MeV
protons and 4 and 6 MeV helium ions. Displacement damage decreases T(
c) at the same rate for BKBO as for the high-T(c) cuprates. The critic
al current density decreases approximately exponentially with increasi
ng fluence at a rate that is directly proportional to the nonionizing
energy loss of an incident particle.
