Abstract
A series of aqueous dispersions has been prepared by the emulsion co-polyme risation of vinyl-substituted oligosiloxanes and acrylic/styrene monomers, and characterised. The effect of the monomer composition, including the con tent of vinyl-substituted siloxane oligomer, as well as that of the method of preparation of vinyl-substituted siloxane oligomer on the properties of the dispersions and coatings made from them has been investigated. It has b een concluded that such dispersions might have a great potential for use as coating binders.
