Abstract
In subjects with normal vascular function, 80 mg of atorvastatin improved e ndothelial function within 24 hours, before serum cholesterol and high-sens itivity C-reactive protein was decreased after 2 days of treatment. Withdra wal of statin therapy after 30 days acutely impaired vascular function inde pendent of cholesterol levels.
