Abstract
The detailed knowledge of the soot distribution is an indispensible pr erequisite for a study of the impact of fluid dynamics on the regenera tion behaviour of ceramic fiber coil filters. As shown by experiments and simulation calculations the soot distribution can be reliably pred icted with a mathematical model formulated in terms of the structural parameters as well as of the operating conditions. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that besides its effect on the regeneration behaviour the impact of fluid dynamics on the soot distribution must be considered, too.
