Abstract
Treatment of [Et4N](2)[WSe4] with an excess of PPh3 gives the W(V) dimer [E t4N](2)[W2Se6]. Reaction of [Et4N](2)[WSe4] with PCy3 (Cy=cyclohexyl) in th e presence of [CuCl] in CH2Cl2 affords [(mu -WSe4) {Cu(PCy3)} {Cu(PCy3)(2)} ] along with a cubane-like cluster [W2Se4(eta (2)-Se2CH2)(2){Cu(PCy3)}(2)] which has been characterized by X-ray crystallography.
