Abstract
An approach to lattice Boltzmann simulation is described, which makes a dir ect connection between classical kinetic theory and contemporary lattice Bo ltzmann modeling methods. This approach can lead to greater accuracy, impro ved numerical stability and significant reductions in computational needs, while giving a new philosophical point of view to lattice Boltzmann calcula tions for a large range of applications.
