Fission decay of highly excited periodically driven compound nuclei is cons
idered in the framework of the Langevin approach. We used residual-time dis
tribution (RTD) as a tool for studying dynamic features in the presence of
periodic perturbation. The structure of RTD essentially depends on the rela
tion between Kramers' decay rate and the frequency omega of periodic pertur
bation. In particular, the intensity of the first peak in RTD has a sharp m
aximum at certain nuclear temperature depending on omega. This maximum shou
ld be considered as first-hand manifestation of stochastic resonance in nuc
lear dynamics. (C) 2001 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".
