Abstract
Equations of motion and energy functionals are derived for a three-dimensio nal coordinate system especially useful for analyzing the static and dynami c behavior of arbitrarily thick shells of revolution having variable thickn ess. The field equations are utilized to express them in terms of displacem ent components.
