Abstract
The present study compared personality and psychopathology profiles of vete rans' wives against married women in the MMPI-2 restandardization sample. D ifferences in levels of distress and pathology were analyzed using the vali dity, clinical, and content scales of the MMPI-2. As expected, veterans' wi ves, when compared to restandardization wives, reported higher levels of ps ychopathology and distress, with symptoms such as depression, social maladj ustment, and other negative, internal symptomatic behaviors. Findings are d iscussed in terms of the need for additional research examining this "at-ri sk" population, (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons. Inc.
