Abstract
Anal sac adenocarcinoma commonly metastasizes to the sublumbar lymph nodes early in the disease and may cause tenesmus and dyschezia in affected dogs. Omentalization can provide a continuous source of drainage for fluid-filled abdominal cysts while reducing development of infection, inflammation, and cyst adhesion to surrounding organs. Although omentalization is not a routine treatment for metastatic adenocarc inoma, it may be helpful in palliating clinical signs of disease associated with cystic metastatic masses.
