Abstract
Recent progress on ultra-intense short-pulse lasers enables us to have high ly intense bursts energetic radiations (electrons, ions, and X-rays) from r elativistic laser plasmas. The radiations are applicable to inducing nuclea r excitations and nuclear reactions, and it is expected to open the new fie ld of "Laser Nuclear Engineering". Ultra-intense short-pulse lasers, relati vistic laser plasmas, and energetic radiations are reviewed, and some futur e applications are introduced.
