Abstract
Recently, work was carried out by the Shotcrete Working Group to study anis otropy in steel fibre reinforced shotcrete using strain-controlled, compres sive strength testing methods. The shotcrete materials used and specimen pr eparation procedures as well as testing methods are described. The test res ults are discussed and it is concluded that, because of the anisotropic nat ure of fibre reinforced shotcrete, it may be worthwhile investigating the d egree of such anisotropy in practice using strain-controlled, strength test ing techniques.
