Abstract
The Excimer Laser System for Refractive Surgery Medilex including the UV ex cimer laser with optical delivery system and optical coherence tomograph (O CT) for correction of the refraction anomalies is presented. The Excimer La ser System Medilex is designed on the base of ArF (193 nm) excimer laser. T he new beam delivery system has been developed. The possibility of the cont rolling the corneal surface with micron accuracy by OCT apparatus during th e process of UV laser ablation is shown. OCT device is able to measure surf ace profile, thickness of the cornea and depth of removed tissue during pro cess of UV ablation. Preliminary results on the determination of the surfac e profile and thickness of the non-modified by UV laser cornea of the alive human eye performed by OCT device with accuracy about 5 mum is shown. The results of the experiments on the measurement of the removed material depth on polymer film and cadaverous human eyes simultaneously with ablation pro cess are described.
