Abstract
The experiment was carried out on 106 crossbred piglets originating from Po lish Large White x Polish Landrace sows and Duroc, Pietrain and Duroc x Pie train boars. Piglets from 4 litters per experimental (EI, E2) and control C groups, weaned at 28 day of lactation were under observation from birth ti ll 56 days of life. Control piglets received Suiferrovit intramuscularly in 3 and 13 days of life; El piglets - 1 ml of 3% solution of Pig-Savour in 3 and 4 days of life orally, then from nipper, and from 28 till 42 days of l ife 2% solution of the preparation. Piglets from E2 received Suiferrovit on ce and they had access to Pig-Savour from 5 days of life (solution as above ). During lactation and after weaning piglets were fed ad libitum Prestarter a nd Starter pelleted mixture. Piglets were weighed individually at birthday. , at 21, 28 and 56 days. At 21, 28 and 56 days of life the feed consumption was controlled, the refusals of feed were weighed. The haemoglobin concent ration in the piglet's blood was indicated at 3 and 28 day of life (all) an d at 56 day of life (from 2 barrows and 2 gilts per litter). Very good resu lts, i.e. good feed ratio, high growth rate, lack of diarrhoeas and losses of piglets, were observed while using Pig-Savour (EI group). Production eff ects and simplification of cost and profit calculation justify using Pig-Sa vour in anaemia prophylactic in piglets.
