Abstract
The details of the emulsification process has been investigated by disconti nuous molecular dynamic simulation. The surfactants help to bring about emu lsification. The emulsification can be divided crudely into two stages: spl itting and uniting process. The splitting and uniting of oil droplets occur s in this position, where surfactants at the interface is rather scarce. Th e effects of the conformation of surfactant chain and the strength of surfa ctant-water and surfactant-oil interactions on emulsification were also stu died. The surfactants with longer tail and stronger surfactant-water and su rfactant-oil interactions promote the emulsification more.
