Abstract
The base principle of monitoring the effectiveness of the cathodic protecti on of underground steel Pipelines by the potential of a special sensor with switching-off the sensor-pipeline circuit is substantiated. The principle is correctly defined; and it is stated that the problem of the sensor size remains unsolved.
