Abstract
The combination of vasodilation and protein extravasation following activat ion of nociceptors has been termed "neurogenic inflammation." In contrast t o rodents, no neurogenic protein extravasation can be elicited in healthy h uman skin. Dermal microdialysis has considerably increased our knowledge ab out neurogenic inflammation in human skin, including the involvement of mas t cells.
