Xp. Yang et al., SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF COMPLEXES OF SOME TRANSITION-METALSWITH BENZOYLDITHIOCARBAZATE, Synthesis and reactivity in inorganic and metal-organic chemistry, 27(7), 1997, pp. 1039-1046
New transition metal complexes of benzoyldithiocarbazate (H2BDT) were
synthesized. The structures of the complexes are proposed on the basis
of elemental analyses, infrared spectra, electronic spectra, magnetic
moments and TGA. Electronic and infrared spectral features of the com
plexes, on comparison with those of the uncoordinated benzoyldithiocar
bazate, indicated that benzoyldithiocarbazate behaves as a dibasic, te
tradentate ligand in the enol form. The ligand coordinates to the meta
l ions Cu(ll), Pb(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) via the enolic oxygen
, the nitrogens of hydrazide and the sulphur of thiolate and as a mono
basic, tridentate ligand in the keto form to Cr(II).
