Abstract
A facilitated d pi -p pi* transition was observed in a boron-ruthenium conj ugated system prepared by hydroboration polymerization between mesitylboran e and a ruthenium-phosphine complex containing tetrayne. In the UV-vis abso rption spectrum of the obtained polymer, the absorption maximum of the MLCT band (d pi -p pi* transition) was highly bathochromically shifted by 141 n m relative to that of the tetrayne monomer.
