E. Quinteroponce et al., GAMMA-BACKGROUND AND BETA-BACKGROUND COUNTING OF I-131 IN MILK IN THEVICINITY OF THE NUCLEAR-CENTER, MEXICO, Journal of radioanalytical and nuclear chemistry, 214(4), 1996, pp. 309-317
The aim of this work was to determine the contamination of I-131 in mi
lk samples by low background gamma-spectrometry and low background B-c
ounting techniques in the vicinity of the Nuclear Center in Salazar, M
exico. The low background gamma-spectrometry was done directly. The de
termination by low background B-counting consisted of a radiochemical
separation of I-131 by ion exchange from the milk samples followed by
measurement in a low background B-counting system. The results indicat
ed that there was no contamination of I-131 in the samples.
