The near-optical absorption edge photoresponse in CVD diamond thin films, p
repared by the CVD method, and the photoresponse in thin boron carbo-nitrid
e (BCN) films, prepared by the rf-inductively coupled plasma CVD technique-
have been studied. In case of diamond, the subgap nealing. It is shown tha
t, in case of BCN films, the gap E-g and the slope of the fundamental absor
ption edge depend on deposition parameters. The energy slope E-0 of the Urb
ach tail is typically 300 meV for the nanocrystalline h-BCN films, and a ty
pical value for E-g is about 6 eV.
