O. Kenn et al., Measurements of g factors and lifetimes of low lying states in Ni58-64 andtheir shell model implications - art. no. 064306, PHYS REV C, 6306(6), 2001, pp. 4306
g factors have been measured for the first 2(+) states of Ni-58,Ni-60,Ni-62
,Ni-64 isotopes employing the combined technique of projectile Coulomb exci
tation and transient magnetic fields. Lifetimes of low-lying states were re
determined using the Doppler shift attenuation method technique. The same t
arget has been used in all measurements and the isotopes were provided by t
he ion source of the accelerator. These conditions guarantee high reliabili
ty and precision as demonstrated in earlier experiments. The measured g fac
tors and the deduced B(E2) values are well explained by large scale shell m
odel calculations in which valence particles are strongly coupled to an exc
ited Ni-56 core.
