In the framework of topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) theory, we calculat
e the contributions of the scalers (the neutral top-pion pi (0)(t) and the
top-Higgs h(t)(0)) to the flavor-changing rare top decays t --> cVV (V = W,
g, gamma or Z). Our results show that h(t)(0) can enhance the standard mod
el B-r(SM)(t --> cWW) by several orders of magnitude for most of the parame
ter space. The peak of the branching ratio resonance emerges when the top-H
iggs mass is between 2m(W) and m(t). The branching ratio B-r (t --> cWW) ca
n reach 10(-3) in the narrow range. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All righ
