Abstract
Three new tetrahedral rhenium chalcocyanide cluster compounds, Mn-2[Re4Se4( CN)(12)]. 6H(2)O (1), Cd-2[Re4Te4(CN)(12)]. 6H(2)O (2) and Cu-2[Re4Te4(CN)( 12)]. 4H(2)O (3), exhibiting polymeric structures have been synthesized by the treatment of molecular ionic cluster compounds K(4)Re(4)Q(4)(CN)(12) (Q = Se, Te) with aqueous solutions of Mn(NO3)(2), CdSO4 and CuCl2 in gel. Th e previously unknown starting compound K4Re4Se4(CN)(12). 6H(2)O (4) was obt ained by the reaction of Re4Se4(TeCl2)(4)Cl-8 with KCN in water.
