L. Le Texier et al., A biosynthetic microbial ability applied for the oxidative ring cleavage of non-natural heterocyclic quinones, TETRAHEDR L, 42(25), 2001, pp. 4135-4137
The regiospecific oxidative ring cleavage of naphthooxazole and naphthooxaz
ole quinonic derivatives was performed by a microbial methodology using a S
treptomyces strain. The subsequent C-C bond cleaved products were new 2-sub
stituted-5-(2-hydroxybenzoyl)thiazole or oxazole-4-carboxylic acid derivati
ves obtained in one step with 30-65% yields. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd.
