D. Lozano-castello et al., In situ small angle neutron scattering study of CD4 adsorption under pressure in activated carbons, CARBON, 39(9), 2001, pp. 1343-1354
In situ small angle neutron scattering (SANS) has been performed on three c
arbons, which adsorb methane, and a zeolite, which does not adsorb methane,
loaded with CD, at pressures of 0, 0.4 and 0.8 MPa. SANS is sensitive to C
D, adsorption. The change in the shape of the scattering patterns can be in
terpreted by an increase in methane density within the pores and the change
of the scattering curves at high q suggests that the density of the adsorb
ed CD, depended upon the local pore size. Estimates of the adsorbed density
were in broad agreement with previous theoretical studies. (C) 2001 Elsevi
