A processing procedure is described that estimates the frequency and the ar
rival time from signals measured with a laser Doppler anemometer (LDA) and
additionally, the phase difference and the time delay of signals measured w
ith a phase Doppler anemometer (PDA). The basis of the estimation procedure
is a wavelet transform. The procedure described works iteratively, alterna
ting between the time and the frequency domain. The performance of the esti
mator is compared to other estimation procedures and the Cramer-Rao lower b
ound using numerical simulations.
