Abstract
An experiment was conducted during 1995-97 on genetics of 5 morphological c haracters, namely leaflet shape, leaf hairyness, pod hairiness, seed stroph iole and seed shape in four interspecific crosses involving 4 accessions of Cajanus sericeus as female parent and four cultivars of Cajanus cajan as m ale parent. All the 5 characters assorted independently and the genes respo nsible for expression of the leaflet shape and seed shape showed incomplete dominance in F1 and F2 segregation revealed that both of these characters were governed by a single gene. The leaf nonhairiness was dominant over hai riness and it was expressed by the complementary action of two genes. the r emaining two traits, viz pod hairiness and seed strophiole were controlled by single gene with complete dominance.
